With small changes, the 2010 ranking of the 100 best universities by subject resembles the 2009 standings. North America has 58% of universities among the top 100 worldwide, followed by Europe with a distant 26% and Asia & Pacific with an emerging 13%.
The ranking of the subjects by region shows that North America has Economics/Business at the top, Europe Physics and Asia & Pacific Chemistry. The second favored subject is Computer Sciences for North America and Asia & Pacific, and Chemistry for Europe.
