The 2013 ranking of the top 100 social sciences universities looks like the membership list of an exclusive club, open only to 10 club members. The United States preside with 69% of the slots, surrounded by two other Anglo-Saxon nations, Canada and the United Kingdom, each with 8 universities in the list.
The per capita ranking is headed by the Netherlands, followed by Israel and Hong Kong. But in this field the gap of the top indexes to the average (red line) and the median is significantly narrower than in the other fields.
