XY scatter chart of the academic ranking of world universities in social science in 2011. The United States keep 71 universities in the top 100 list, followed by Canada and the United Kingdom with 8 each, the Netherlands with 5, and Denmark and Israel with 2 each. In per capita terms, Denmark is first with an index of 36, about 1.5 times the median (22), followed by the Netherlands, Israel, Canada and the United States. The majority of countries are above the average (red line).

The academic realm of social science is the private turf of the Anglo-saxon countries, with the United States at the chair. North America and the United Kingdom place 87 universities in the top 100 list. Only 10 countries are present in the list. This dominant profile suggests a tightly-knit orthodoxy-manufacturing system, strictly controlled by the high-priests of the temple, and adept at broadcasting a politically-correct ideology to serve the interests of its sponsors.

From a per capita vantage point, smaller countries such as Denmark, Netherlands and Israel make inroads and occupy the top places in the list. The trend suggests that the ideology carried in the bags of this "soft science" might impose itself unchecked, to the point of becoming the only authorized thought among the middle layers of western or westernized societies — the other option being to keep quiet and mind one's own business.
