Unsurprisingly, the United States lead the 2014 academic ranking of the top 100 world universities in engineering, technology and computer science, with a total of 37 institutions, down from 42 in 2013, but with 14 in the top twenty slots. Asia/Oceania put a formidable show with 38 universities — of which 21 located in China. The Europeans claim 20 universities in the list, of which 3 in the top 20.
Singapore and Denmark are the best performers in per capita terms both with per capita indexes about 3 times the average (horizontal red line in the chart). Israel and Switzerland follow with indexes more than twice the average and the median values.
