Column chart showing that in 2008, 439 nuclear reactors are in operation, with a total capacity of 372 GWe; 36 reactors are under construction, total capacity of 30 GWe, 93 reactors are planned, total capacity of 101 GWe; 218 reactors are proposed, total capacity of 193 GWe

In 2008, the plans are to add 347 nuclear reactors, total capacity 324 GWe, to the currently operating 439 reactors, total capacity 372 GWe. However, 50% of the plans are still in the remote "proposal" stage (see Nuclear power worldwide).
