After 7 years of Afghan war, the OEF (Operation enduring freedom) and Nato ISAF (International security assistance force) coalition registers an increasing number of fatalities. From 2001 through 24 October 2008, 1,000 western military personnel have been killed. The trend is indicative of the difficulty of the misssion.
