Area Harvested

Data on area harvested relates to:

area from which a crop is gathered;
if the same crop is sown or planted more than once in the same field during the year, the area is counted as many times as harvested.

Areas sown or planted that, for natural or other causes, fail to produce a harvest are excluded from area harvested data.
